11. All I want is everything
12. Take me apart
13. Over and over
I’ve been a fan of Mindy Mccready since the first time I heard her sing, a girl’s gotta do. There is always a cheekiness to her music, that is fresh and appealing. This album is a little different in that aspect. The cheekiness is still there, in songs such as 'I love you' and 'lucky me'.
One of the sad things about this album was that when it was released there was a rift between McCready and WEA, regarding almost everything to do with the album from the cover, to the song selection and they parted ways 2 weeks after the release.
Some of the better songs didn’t even get a radio release, and the album was pretty much forgotten.
It’s a shame because, while McCready may not have the clout, and strength other country singers have, she does still have an amazing voice, and brings a little of herself to the songs.
Favourite tracks of mine are 'I’m not so tough', 'lucky me', 'I love you too', 'thunder and roses', and 'one in a million'.
While some may think it has a strong hint of country to it, I think it’s probably leaning more towards pop country rather than the true style of country. But it’s definitely worth listening to.
I give the album 3/5
