CMT Crossroads is renown for bringing different artists together, with brilliant results. In the past they have teamed John Mayer up with Brad Paisley, Reba McEntire with Kelly Clarkson, and more recently Taylor Swift with Def Leppard.
However, none compares to the brilliance of teaming two powerful voices together, as they have done with Pat Benetar and Martina Mcbride.
Pat Benetar hit the scene in the 80’s with hit such as ‘We Belong’, ‘Hit Me With Your Best Shot’, and ‘Love Is A Battlefield’ and with seven platinum records, three gold records, four Grammy awards, two American Music Awards and a legion of fans worldwide, she’s a hard act to follow.
So, it’s only natural to team her up with one of the biggest stars of country. For the last decade Martina McBride has moved critics with her big vocals that have caused many to nickname her the Celine Dion Of country. With Six #1 hits, three CMA female vocalist awards, a Grammy and two CMT Flameworthy Video Music Awards, she can certainly hold her own.
Teaming up to sing some of their biggest hits, this album is a must have on the bootlegger’s front. Although it’s not the best in quality, it is all made up for it in quantity.
Gems include Martina singing ‘We Belong’ and her rowdy version of ‘When God Fearing Women get The Blues’.
Not to be done, or outshined Benetar really steps it up with ‘Heartbreaker’ and ‘Hit Me With Your Best Shot’.
A great combination, and well worth checking out.
