I’ve never been a big fan of Firehouse. I’ve liked a couple of their tracks such as ‘All She Wrote’, and ‘When I Look Into Your Eyes’, but they’ve never been anything special to me.
However, I love Good Acoustics. Recorded in 1996, just when every band seemed to be doing an acoustic set, this highlights everything that is good about Firehouse.
Instead of just sitting and doing the acoustic set without any changes, Firehouse rework their songs, producing an enjoyable, and easy listening album. Throw in three new tracks and a cover of the Eagles ‘Seven Bridges Road’ and you’ve got an album worthy.
Highlights are definitely ‘Love Don’t Care’, ‘Don’t Treat Me Bad’, ‘Here For You’ and ‘No One At All’.
For fans of the band, this is definitely an essential purchase. Even if you’re not a fan, this might be a reason to check them out for the first time.
