Dolly Parton-collections
Record Label: RCA
Year: 2006
Track listing:
01. my Tennessee mountain
02. Jolene
03. The seeker
04. Coat of many colors
05. To daddy
06. Silver and gold
07. Why’d you come in here
08. Rockin years
09. Romeo
10. He’s alive
Interestingly this is a different collections Cd to the Greatest hits I already have, although there are many out there. This introduced me to quite a few of her older hits such as my Tennessee mountain, the seeker, coat of many colors, all of which I had never heard before, and loved from the moment I did.
A joy of this album was to hear Romeo, which is one of my favorite Parton songs. Obviously, Jolene was also a favorite and expected to be on this album. I don’t think any Greatest Hits album or collection album would be complete without that song.
For Dolly fans this is a definite must, as it spans her career and has tracks on it that you would not expect to see on other Greatest Hits albums.
It shows Dolly at her best, not only as a singer but also as a songwriter.
Must listen to songs: Jolene for obvious reasons, coat of many colors, to daddy, and Romeo.
