Artist Spotlight: The Highwaymen

Biography
The Highwaymen were the country supergroup with the likes of country big guns Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson. You don’t get bigger than that.
Formed in 1985, Jennings and Cash had already collaborated in the past, and Cash considered Jennings to be his ‘blood brother’, friends to the very end.
The band released their first album, simply entitled Highwayman, and with that came their first single, 'Highwayman', which automatically became a #1 hit.
At this time the band weren’t called The Highwaymen, and the album was credited simply to each member.
In 1990 the band released their second CD, Highwaymen 2, which didn’t do as well as the other, but still went to #4 in the charts.
The group’s final release was in 1995, titled the road goes on forever. Not doing very well, the four singers went back to their own very successful solo careers.

The Highwaymen-The Highwayman
SONG: The Highwayman
REL BY: Columbia
YEAR: 1985
Highwayman soared to #1 when, it was released in 1985, by The Highwaymen. A simple pseudonym for some of the biggest acts in country history; the man in black himself Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings.
Although the four men were huge acts by themselves, they never seemed to make it as big as The Highwaymen.
The song is very old country, but still Cash and Nelson both shine throughout the song, and its definitely worth a listen.
I give this 3/5
